This past weekend, I had several players message me looking for a training program they could do for the next few weeks (or perhaps longer) - one that wouldn’t require any gym equipment. And in light of recent events, I’m guessing they aren’t the only tennis players (and athletes in general), in this scenario.

Because of this, I’ve taken some time to create what I’ve called, The ‘No Gym’ Program. So if you’re in the same situation as many (and don’t have access to gym equipment), just scroll to the end of this page and enter your email address - you’ll receive the program for free.

Again, this resource is completely FREE and includes:

  • A 4-day/week program that can be carried out for 6 weeks (two 3-week cycles). This is the length of time that tennis is on hiatus (at minimum).

  • Each workout builds off of the previous one (it’s progressive in nature) and requires NO equipment of any kind.

  • You will get faster, more explosive and probably stronger too - even if there’s no external resistance (and you can do everything either in your house, your yard or at a local park).

  • Videos of every exercise item (warm-up, plyometrics, med ball, speed, strength and so on).

  • A detailed 6-page Training Guidelines Resource which outlines some basic instructions and some additional details about each workout (the why, how, what etc).

I put this program together pretty quickly so if you believe you’ve found a mistake (whether spelling or otherwise), please email me at matt@mattspoint.com. Anyone of any age should be able to perform it (or adapt it to fit their needs). Additionally, I will likely be posting more info about the program - including some instructional videos about exercise execution, alternative exercises and other creative solutions if you can’t perform a certain activity. That info will likely be posted on my Instagram account - so check that out here.

On another note, this will surely be a difficult time for most small businesses. While I am unable to service my clients at the gym, tennis courts etc, I will do my best to continue supporting local cafes, restaurants and markets - those that I would normally frequent most often (probably in take-out manners as everything here in Canada is completely closed).

That being said, if you’d like to make a donation for this resource, you can do so by clicking the link below. Please DO NOT feel any obligation whatsoever to do so. In fact, if your livelihood has been affected in any way because of the current COVID-19 pandemic (and related closures), I urge you to disregard the donation and simply enjoy The ‘No Gym’ Program.

Whatever you decide, I am grateful and will continue to do my best to deliver as many articles and free resources as I can during this time. It’ll also give me a chance to create new content for the tennis & athletic communities to enjoy.

Finally, please stay safe during this time. I’ll be doing my best to stay productive, stay active/healthy (within the confines of home) and most importantly, to enjoy quality family time. Here’s to hoping things get back to normal soon!

Note - If after signing up you don’t receive an email with the program, please check your promotions tab and/or spam folder prior to emailing me. Thanks!
